Christmas decorating.

One part twinklie lights, one part glass bulb, a fluffy green tree filling the house with pine....put it all together and *POOF* you get some Christmas magic. Every bit on its own wouldn't be much but when you've got your tree up and lights on, mantel decorated and stockings hung, the house and yard a glow with icicle lights and a candy cane row, it simply makes..... Christmas.
I went and got our tree yesterday when Nate was on duty. I drug all 7 ft of it in the house myself and got it into its stand. When Nate got home the tree was done and the whole down stairs had been decorated...like little elfs took over while he was away.
Today we did the outside stuff. Nate climbed out the upstairs window in onto the porch roof to hang the icicle lights. The next bit was a tad sketchy, one of those "don't try this it home moments", Nate climbed the ladder that was on the second story roof while I held it steady so he could hang the lights on the attic roof line. It actually turned out pretty good, though I wouldn't recommend our light hanging method. With Christmas just 2 1/2 weeks away we've finally got all our decorations up and Christmas shopping done(well for the most part, anyways). Next we get to take them all down, box it up and do it all over again next year!
